Have you ever wonder what types of activities are available around the Asheville area that you and your whole family can enjoy?

We wanted to put together a list of things families of all ages and sizes will enjoy without having to travel far.

  • Biltmore Estates:
    This 8,000 acre estate is open to the public and offers a wide range of activities from estate tours, dining, shopping, and outdoor activities such as biking, fly-fishing, or horseback riding.

  • Sliding Rock:
    This is the end all be all of swimming holes. It features a 60 foot natural water slide located in the Pisgah National Forest. It’s free to swim and enjoy after a small parking fee at once you get there.

  • Asheville Treetops Adventure Park:
    This outdoor park features different trails you can take to challenge your abilities in climbing, zipping, walking, jumping, swinging, and rappelling. Each trail is a different difficulty so families of all ages can enjoy it.

  • Drive or Hike the Blue Ridge Parkway:
    The Blue Ridge Parkway is littered with miles and miles of hiking trails perfect for some family bonding and even to plan a short hike and picnic in the wilderness. These trails offer some of the most spectacular views of the Southern Appalachian Mountains.

  • Colburn Earth Science Museum:
    The Colburn Earth Science Museum offers a wide variety of fun and educational exhibits throughout the year to entertain kids and adults alike.
